TUV NEL
TUV NEL has 50 years expertise in fluids and flow measurement and over 80 staff related to this area working on both Government and industrial research projects. They are internationally recognised for specialising in flowing fluid, heat transfer, gas property mixture prediction and computational fluids dynamics. All the research behind the Aspen Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow (HTFS) software was carried out at TUV NEL. TUV NEL carry out all the flow research on behalf of UK Government’s National Measurement System and hold the UK National Standards for Flow Measurement.
The TUV NEL modelling team collectively has over 100 years experience of flow modelling. In recent years TUV NEL has extended its expertise and knowledge to cover cryogenic flows with particular focus on development of LNG flow metering technologies in collaboration with flow meter manufacturers and operators. Currently TUV NEL is building a cryogenic test rig to develop its expertise in this area and to support the development of industrial scale calibration facility in collaboration with other NMI’s. TUV NEL also plays an active role in development of international standards and currently has involvement in the development of standards for LNG cargoes on board LNG carriers (ISO 10976).
