Enagas

Enagás is the Technical Manager of the Gas System and Common Carrier for the high pressure gas network in Spain. Its facilities include more than 9,000 km. of high-pressure gas pipeline over all the Spanish territory, two underground natural gas storages, Serrablo (Huesca) and Gaviota (Vizcaya) and three Regasification Plants: Barcelona, Cartagena and Huelva. These plants have a total emission capacity of 4,650,000 m³/hr, and a total storage capacity of 1,437,000 m³ of LNG. Also, in September of 2009, the Company signed the contract for the purchase of the 25% in the Regasification Plant of Bilbao.

To guarantee the security of the Gas System, Enagás works in the development of new infrastructures and in the extension of the existing ones.
As more out-standing projects, they are the new Regasification Plant of Gijón (Asturias) and underground natural gas storage in Yela (Guadalajara).
Enagás’ mission, in its role as carrier and technical operator, is to ensure that the Spanish gas system works correctly, guarantee the security of supply and encourage competition in a transparent and non-discriminatory manner.
Enagás optimizes the way the gas system works by coordinating the different agents and proposing measures for improvement. It develops the transport network and manages its infrastructure in a secure, efficient, profitable and environmentally-friendly way. These functions are performed exclusively and independently.
All of this is carried out in cooperation with the regulators, to provide a quality of service to its customers, create value for its shareholders and contribute to the sustainable development of society.”

Relevant experiences in the field of LNG measurement and can be applicable for the Project are:

  • Leader of GERG project “MOLAS”. The new simulation model to predict LNG composition and properties changes during ship transportation, as a result of LNG ageing during the trip.
  • Chief Editor of the handbook “Custody Transfer” that deals with energy measurement during LNG loading and unloading ship to ground tanks processes.
  • ISO expert in Standards related to LNG topics concerning LNG energy measurement.
  • New developments in sampling and vaporization of LNG for determination of LNG Quality and Energy unloading determination.
  • Present in LNG trade operations for more than 40 years, developing activities related to LNG Custody Transfer, with a wide range of LNG supplies and origins (qualities).
